1 safety the Steelers can target in every round of 2026 NFL Draft

Safety may not be a major priority for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, but the overall strength of the class begs the question: can the team afford to pass on addressing the position?

Here is a look at several safeties the Steelers should consider drafting, with one prospect for each round in the 2026 NFL Draft.

First round: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, Toledo

A massive safety prospect at 6 foot 4, McNeil-Warren possesses elite coverage and ball skills that should result in him being selected in the late first round.

Second round: A.J. Haulcy, LSU

One of the best zone-coverage defensive backs of the draft, Haulcy would be a great value pickup for the Steelers with the 53rd overall pick.

Third round: Genesis Smith, Arizona

While his tackling technique is a major red flag, Smith is another talented zone-coverage safety who would make a huge impact on Pittsburgh's already loaded secondary, while only costing the team a third-round pick.

Fourth round: Bud Clark, TCU

Boasting outstanding production (fifteen interceptions over the past four seasons), Clark also brings valued versatility, being able to line up in the slot, in the box, and out deep, which is rare for a fourth-round safety prospect.
