The 2026 college basketball transfer portal opened on April 7, 2026, and will remain open until April 21, 2026. Many of the biggest names have officially announced their commitment, while several four- and five-star talent remain undecided.
The most commonly referenced name as of late has been Wake Forest guard Juke Harris. Harris has received and lost multiple crystal ball projections in the last few days. Michigan, North Carolina and now Tennessee. Yet Harris is only No. 3 on the best available list after the first week.
Portal activity is not slowing down, nor has the crop of talent created positional scarcity. Of the top ten available, point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center are all represented in the top ten.
Just juncture in the process should provide ample opportunity to get better for blue bloods and programs willing to spend. The initial wave of big name signings have come and gone. This is where the bigger programs begin to circle back and see if there are other players to purse.
Fans of Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and other noteworthy programs in social media circles are beginning to get restless due to a lack of signings and incoming commitments.
