2025 Recap

Buffalo opened the 2025 season with their lone game against a Power 4 opponent, as the Bulls gave Minnesota a run for their money, trailing only 13-10 going into the fourth quarter, before the Gophers ultimately won 23-10. The Bulls then destroyed now-D3 St. Francis (PA) and won a 31-28 squeaker over Kent State before dropping back-to-back close ones to Troy and UConn. Buffalo followed that up by winning three of their next four, taking down Eastern Michigan, UMass, and Bowling Green, while losing to Akron. Sitting at 5-4 with a real shot at clinching a bowl game for a second straight season, the Bulls dropped their final three games of the season to Central Michigan, Miami (OH), and Ohio, keeping them home for the holidays.

In the small world department, former Nittany Lion quarterback Ta’Quan Roberson was Buffalo’s starter in 11 of their 12 games, as he racked up a total of 2,520 yards passing with 17 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 58 percent passing.

Offensive Player To Watch: WR Jasaiah Gathings

With Buffalo’s top two receivers from last year Nik McMillan (Kansas) and Victor Snow (NC State) having transferred up to the P4 level, it’ll be up to Gathings to improve upon his 36 catch-410 yard-3 TD performance from last season.
