The Los Angeles Rams wrapped up the 2026 NFL Draft and while they still have options if they want to add more players, for the most part, their roster is set for the summer. The Rams were aggressive, investing over $200 million into their secondary, while using the draft to plan for the future.

With potential extensions looming, here are four observations from the Rams' offseason so far.

The Rams felt that they had a championship roster before the draft

You don't spend the 13th overall pick on a quarterback if you have a pressing need on the roster. While it is a questionable decision not to add another wide receiver in the first round, especially when Davante Adams has wear and tear issues, the team feels their tight end room is well-equipped to take over, should an injury occur to their wide receivers.

It's clear that the Rams also feel Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson addressed all their issues on defense. A little shocking that they're entering OTAs with only three starting-caliber outside cornerbacks, unless they feel a developmental player is on the verge of a breakthrough.

They have set themselves up for another midseason trade

The Rams only finished with five picks in the draft, as they packaged two late-rounders to move up for CJ Daniels. The team didn't have a lot of roster spots open anyway, so it was more about quality than quantity. However, by doing this, the Rams did not touch their 2027 draft capital, and outside of the third-round selection used to add McDuffie, the team has the rest to use in a midseason trade.
