This should be an obvious choice for Dallas fans. The former Mavericks superstar is currently battling a hamstring injury, but he could return at some point in Los Angeles' playoff run. Before the Lakers' second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder began, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Doncic is still on a "week-to-week" basis with his Grade 2 hamstring strain. Doncic was one of the league's top players in the regular season, averaging 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
Kleber was sent to Los Angeles with Doncic last year. He only played seven minutes in a Game 4 first-round loss to the Houston Rockets. The forward, who played in Dallas for eight seasons, appeared in 43 games for the Lakers in the regular season. He averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.6 assists.
Barnes is an established veteran looking for his second NBA championship. The forward played for the Mavericks from 2016-19, until he was traded to the Sacramento Kings. Barnes has spent the last two seasons in San Antonio. In the regular season, Barnes averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Mavericks fans may find it a bit difficult to root for Brunson, considering how he left Dallas. He spent the first four years of his professional career with the Mavericks, quickly becoming one of the league's top young guards. His play has only improved since he joined the Knicks. This regular season, Brunson averaged 26.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists.
