Sharron Young has left Akron Zips basketball to join Western Kentucky after entering the NCAA transfer portal. His decision follows a similar move by teammate Eric Mahaffey, who committed to Cincinnati.
Akron Zips basketball loses Sharron Young to Western Kentucky
Former Akron Zips basketball player Sharron Young is on the move in the NCAA transfer portal.
On April 16, Young announced via social media he will leave Akron because he has committed to play for Western Kentucky.
Like fellow guard Eric Mahaffey, Young entertained the possibility of returning to the Zips when he announced on April 3 he would enter the portal. And like Mahaffey, Young is joining another team. Mahaffey announced his commitment to Cincinnati on April 15.
