On Monday night, Alabama women's basketball guard Jessica Timmons became the latest player from the program to be selected in the WNBA draft.
Timmons was selected in the third round of the 2026 WNBA draft on Monday night, coming off the board with the No. 40 overall pick. The Alabama guard was drafted by the Indiana Fever, which is where Timmons will now begin her professional career.
A former transfer from NC State, Timmons was outstanding for the Crimson Tide during the 2025-26 season, with the guard averaging 16.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on 43.4% shooting from the field. Starting all 35 games, Timmons also shot an impressive 39.4% from three, as well as a career-high 84.6% at the free throw line, to earn Second Team All-SEC honors.
Timmons transferred to Alabama from NC State in 2023 following her freshman and sophomore seasons, averaging 11.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists during a breakout 2023-24 campaign in Tuscaloosa. The guard went on to miss the entirety of the 2024-25 season, and returned to the court this past year following a medical redshirt.
