Alex Fitzpatrick didn't even have a PGA Tour card until earlier this year.
But now, he and his brother Matt are teeing it up at the PGA Championship together, and they're rooming together, for good measure.
It's been quite the rise for Alex, who is four years younger than Matt.
Alex only earned his first Tour card by winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April as part of a pairing in that teammate event with his older brother.
That victory earned Alex a spot in the PGA Championship.
“Super proud of him for how he’s been playing and following up the win at Zurich with two brilliant, brilliant weeks, both at Doral and obviously last week as well,” Matt Fitzpatrick told Golf Channel. “I’m probably known as Alex’s brother now, as opposed to him being Matt’s brother. It’s an amazing position to be in to have that privilege to talk about how well he’s doing.”
Matt is a veteran of the PGA Tour, and before that, he starred in Europe.
He's even a major champion, the 2022 U.S. Open, as well as entering this year's PGA with three wins already this season.
Alex, on the other hand, has traveled more of a grinding path. He played college golf at Wake Forest and didn't play a PGA Tour event until the 2022 Valspar Championship.
