Last Sunday, Cruz took to social media to call out Chase DeMoor for a Misfits Boxing clash, writing: âI thought you had finished your studies, but Iâll take you back to school kid, letâs scrap at Misfits Boxing. Chamaâ.
Pereira quickly showed his support, responding publicly: âIâd like to see this fightâ.
The exchange comes weeks after DeMoor reacted to footage of Pereira discussing Cruzâs potential return, stating: âIâll beat him up and then his fighter next.â
The back-and-forth has built momentum around a possible bout, with Pereiraâs backing adding further attention to the potential match-up.
DeMoor represents a significant test if the fight materialises.
He is the current Misfits Boxing heavyweight champion, holds a 5-1 record within the promotion and is ten years younger than the Brazilian coach.
The American also defeated Andrew Tate, who has an important kickboxing background, by majority decision in December 2025, boosting his profile in crossover boxing.
While Cruz brings fighting experience, the physical disparity and his ongoing weight loss process could make this a very challenging match-up.
