The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for most, had one glaring roster need entering the NFL Draft, and that was at edge.
Todd Bowles' team struggled to get meaningful quarterback pressure in the second half of the season last year, so general manager Jason Licht knew that had to change.
And in the first round of the draft, somehow, Miami stud Rueben Bain Jr. fell to Tampa Bay at No. 15, and the franchise, without a second thought, turned that draft card in.
Now, the Bucs have a genuine game-wrecker on the defensive side, and for NFL.com's Gennaro Filice, he's sent a league-wide warning about Bain in 2026.
“Bain should not have lasted until the 15th overall pick last month, and he knew it,” Filice wrote. “Everyone saw him storm the draft stage as a man driven by disrespect -- honestly, it felt like a supervillain origin story -- and I can’t wait to see him take it out on the league.
“For a Bucs team that needed more pass rush, landing Bain was a dream scenario.”
