The Washington Commanders feel positive after the NFL Draft but still need to strengthen their wide receiver lineup. Despite adding Antonio Williams, analysts question if they will secure a more established weapon alongside Terry McLaurin.

The Washington Commanders have come out of the NFL Draft feeling good about what they accomplished, but there is still plenty of work to be done.
The franchise added a receiver in the third round, Antonio Williams, but many expected the Commanders to try to add a genuine weapon to pair with Terry McLaurin. That hasn't happened...yet.
But will it?
I think it has to, as the Commanders can't go into 2026 with McLaurin and a rookie as Jayden Daniels' top two weapons.
For NFL.com's Kevin Patra, he wonders if Brandon Aiyuk is still on the radar.
“The Commanders used a third-round pick on slot receiver Antonio Williams but still lack a legit outside threat to pair with Terry McLaurin,” Patra wrote. “The assumption at this point is that they're waiting for Brandon Aiyuk -- Jayden Daniels' close friend -- to wiggle free from San Francisco. How long will they wait, and what will Washington do if he lands elsewhere?”
The Washington Commanders drafted Antonio Williams in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Analysts believe the Commanders need another wide receiver to complement Terry McLaurin and avoid relying solely on a rookie in 2026.
Terry McLaurin is a key wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, and his performance is crucial for the team's offensive success.

They could, but what sort of player would they be waiting for?
Aiyuk hasn't played in over a year, and questions have been raised about how he reportedly approached his rehab from an ACL injury.
Washington shouldn't give up any draft capital for Aiyuk, so the waiting game continues until the San Francisco 49ers release him.
But should the Commanders wait? Aiyuk will take a while to get back up to speed, and once he does, what sort of player will Daniels be getting?
For me, there are too many question marks surrounding Aiyuk for Washington to look at him, at least right now, and think he'll come in and make an immediate impact.
