The Washington Commanders' offense, as it is presently constructed, doesn't give Jayden Daniels the best chance at putting up points.
With only Terry McLaurin as the top receiver, if the defense takes him away, Daniels' options become rather limited.
But could the Commanders lean on rookie Antonio Williams? A third-round pick, Williams has gotten plenty of plaudits, with many thinking he'll be WR2 from Day 1.
And ESPN's Field Yates thinks that Williams could be a great addition to the offense for Daniels.
"Draft position and fit are why Williams cracks this list," Yates wrote. "He is an extremely experienced, savvy, pro-ready wideout who can start in the slot from Day 1. The Commanders needed receiver help alongside Terry McLaurin, and Williams will compete with players such as Dyami Brown and Luke McCaffrey for snaps. I love Williams' instincts, as he was a persistent chain-mover at Clemson."
Antonio Williams is predicted to take on the WR2 role for the Washington Commanders, providing support to top receiver Terry McLaurin.
The current structure of the Commanders' offense limits Jayden Daniels' scoring potential, especially if defenses focus on Terry McLaurin.
Antonio Williams was drafted in the third round and is viewed positively, with expectations that he will contribute significantly from the start.

He could be, but we don't want to put too much pressure on the rookie. Plus, Treylon Burks and Luke McCaffrey are the other options.
But Williams has all the tools to become a consistent weapon for Daniels, and in truth, the Commanders need another player to stand up with McLaurin, because having a one-man band isn't going to cut it in 2026.
Washington needs more, and that could come from Williams, but in an ideal world, it would be all of the receivers pitching in to help move the chains.
Not often do rookies in the later rounds get Day 1 reps with the starters, but Williams, it appears, is set to buck that trend.
