TEAM PREVIEWS:
Angels (10-10, 3rd in AL West): The Angels may be putting a lot of teams on notice in the early parts of the season.
Despite the .500 record, lots of things have been clicking for them. The batting order, from top to bottom, has been contributing at a consistent rate. The power numbers have skyrocketed, combining for the second-most in the league behind the juggernaut Dodgers. Starting pitching is also pitching highly efficiently, while eating a good chunk of innings.
The Angels will host the Padres for a three-game series starting Friday, with specific game times available through official MLB channels.
The games can be watched on various sports networks; check local listings for specific channels broadcasting the series.
Injury updates for both teams will be provided closer to game time, typically available on MLB's official website and team social media.
Betting odds for the series can be found on sports betting websites and will vary based on team performance and injuries leading up to the games.

It started with José Soriano setting the tone in each one of his four starts, leading the league in ERA, winning the game in each one and allowing just one run. It can also continue with Soriano, who takes the mound against the red-hot Padres in the series opener on Friday.
San Diego’s lineup is likely to be the best Soriano has faced to date this season. Two hot offenses didn’t stop him in his prior two starts however, as he has dialed back-to-back 10-strikeout outings heading into Friday.
The story of their most recent series against the Yankees was the resilience of their offense. It started, continued, and ended with Mike Trout, who launched a home run in all four games against the Yankees – becoming the first player to do so in a four-game set at Yankee Stadium.
Trout will look to continue that back at home. Among other recent standouts is infielder Oswald Peraza, who has shown recent flashes of the highly touted prospect he once was. He hit two homers against the Yankees, and has hit .368 over the team’s last seven games
The Angels will be without power bat Jorge Soler on Friday and Saturday against the Padres, as he awaits the conclusion of his four-game suspension. Soler should be good to return in Sunday’s series finale.
Following Soriano on Friday will be Yusei Kikuchi on Saturday, who has struggled with command in his four starts. Reid Detmers, who has impressed so far and has seen his strikeout numbers take a big leap, will take the ball on Sunday.
Padres (13-6, 2nd in NL West): If it weren’t for the typical leaders in the National League West, the Padres would hold the best record in all of Major League Baseball to this point.
The Padres head into Anaheim on an eight-game winning streak, playing all-around baseball despite dealing with some rotation injuries. They looked complete in a three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners, which included a five-run ninth inning comeback win on Wednesday.
After a slow start to the season, Fernando Tatis Jr. is looking back to form at the plate despite lacking the power numbers. Manager Craig Stammen slotted Roman Laureano into the leadoff spot, where he has thrived and leads the team in OPS and homers.
On the mound, the starters have been getting the job done. So has the bullpen, who has been among one of the most efficient in the league. Mason Miller continues to be an absolute force in the closer role, dominating his way through 9 ⅓ shutout innings with 23 strikeouts.
The Padres will be starting all righties, who the Angels have hit well this season. Knuckleball specialist Matt Waldron will be making his season debut on Friday’s series opener, slotting in for the recently injured Nick Pivetta.
Germán Márquez, who has faced some early season trouble on the basepaths, will follow on Saturday. Michael King toes the rubber in the series finale on Sunday, looking to build on a strong start to the year.
