Several area teams have qualified for the District 10 playoffs in baseball, softball, and boys volleyball. Rocky Grove, Cambridge Springs, and Cochranton will compete in the playoffs this spring.
After battling through another season, several area teams have qualified for the District 10 playoffs in baseball, softball, and boys volleyball.
Baseball
In Class 1A Rocky Grove, Cambridge Springs and Cochranton will all take part.
After finishing 9-9, good for third in Region 3, Rocky Grove grabbed the No. 2 spot in the bracket. The Orioles will take on Cambridge Springs (5-12), the No. 3 seed on Thursday, with a time and location to be announced. Rocky Grove went 2-0 against Cambridge Springs in the regular season, winning with a combined score of 12-4.
Cochranton was selected as the No. 4 seed, after finishing 4-11 on the year. The Cardinals will face the No. 1 seed West Middlesex on Thursday, with a time and location to be announced. In the teams’ only meeting, West Middlesex defeated Cochranton 11-1.
Saegertown and Maplewood will represent the area in the Class 2A playoffs.
After going 16-1 and winning Region 3, the Panthers will be the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, taking on No. 7 Union City. The quarterfinal game will take place on Monday, at 3:15 p.m. at Allegheny College. This will be Saegertown and Union City’s first meeting this season.
The second place team in Region 3, Maplewood, will go into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed, after finishing 11-6. The Tigers will face No. 3 Greenville at 1 p.m. at Slippery Rock University on Monday. This will be Maplewood and Greenville’s first meeting this year.
In the 3A bracket, Conneaut, Titusville and Franklin will all compete.
Titusville took the No. 4 spot with a 7-10 record. The Rockets will face No. 5 Northwestern at Allegheny College at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the first meeting between Northwestern and Titusville this year.
After going 11-9 on the year, Franklin will be the No. 6 seed in the bracket. The Knights will play No. 3 Girard on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. at Mercyhurst University. Franklin will take on Girard for the first time this season.
Conneaut took the final spot in the playoffs as the No. 8 seed. The 5-9 Eagles will play the No. 1 seed Fairview on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mercyhurst University. Conneaut fell twice to Fairview this season.
Meadville went 9-10 this season and will face fellow Region 6 team Warren in the Class 5A championship. The game will take place at noon on Wednesday at Mercyhurst University. The Bulldogs split with Warren this season, winning 7-1 and losing 4-3.
Softball
In Class 1A, the No. 1 seed Cambridge Springs (11-6) will get a bye into the championship game, while Rocky Grove (7-12) as the No. 3 seed will battle No. 2 seed West Middlesex.
The Orioles will play on Wednesday with a start time and location to be announced. This will be Rocky Grove and West Middlesex’s first meeting this year.
Cochranton and Saegertown will play in the Class 2A playoff.
Saegertown was picked as the No. 3 seed after finishing 15-3 and winning Region 2. The Panthers will take on No. 6 Union City on Monday at 7 p.m. at Slippery Rock. In the teams only meeting, Saegertown defeated Union City 14-5.
Rocky Grove, Cambridge Springs, and Cochranton are participating in the District 10 baseball playoffs.

Rocky Grove finished 9-9, Cambridge Springs 5-12, and Cochranton 4-11 in the regular season.

Cochranton finished the year 16-3, good for the No. 5 seed. The Cardinals will take on No. 4 Seneca on Monday at 2 p.m. at Penn State Behrend. Cochranton fell 1-0 to Seneca this season in the teams only matchup.
Conneaut will be the lone area team in the 3A bracket. After finishing 7-9, the Eagles will be the No. 7 seed and go up against the No. 2 seed in Northwestern. The teams will clash at Allegheny College at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwestern defeated Conneaut twice this year.
In Class 4A, Titusville (12-6) received the No. 3 seed. The Rockets will face No. 2 Fort LeBoeuf on Thursday, with a start time and place to be announced. Titusville split the series with Fort LeBoeuf this year, winning 7-4 and losing 2-0.
Boys volleyball
The Class 2A boys volleyball bracket kicks off on Tuesday.
Undefeated Meadville (13-0), who is the No. 1 ranked 2A team in the state per the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association, was ranked as the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will get a bye into the semifinal.
No. 2 Saegertown (11-2), who is the No. 9 ranked team in the state, will also receive a bye into the semifinals.
Cochranton took the No. 3 spot in the playoffs after going 9-3 during the season. The Cardinals will face No. 6 Maplewood, who finished 8-7. The game will be at Meadville at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Also taking place at Meadville on Tuesday, will be the No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup. Cambridge Springs took the No. 4 seed after finishing 6-8 on the year. The Blue Devils will play No. 5 Conneaut (8-7) at 7:15 p.m.
