Just a few weeks ago, Real Madrid interim head coach Álvaro Arbeloa was out in the media slinging some My Little Pony-esque phrasing that his team could overcome everything, simply through the “power of friendship.”
“We have to use the power of friendship. The power of family,” said potential Brony Arebola back on March 23rd.
In theory, it sounded great for a team, who might be on the verge of a miracle run…not one about to be eliminated from all of its eligible competitions.
Maybe it just takes more than friendship to turns a season around…who would have thought?
Bayern Munich took down Real Madrid 4-3 in the second leg of their Champions League tie (6-4 on aggregate) to move on to the UCL semifinals against Paris Saint-Germain in what will be a firecracker of a tie.
No rest for the weary, right?
Anyway, the “power of friendship” has been defeated and sometimes you have to play smart — and as a team — to overcome a big obstacle.
