A consensus All-American selection, Jones became the inaugural “Mr. 57,” a moniker coined by Pro Football Hall of Famer Devin Hester, who was picked with the 57th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. Attending the draft in Pittsburgh on Thursday, Hester sported a red jacket with lining that he revealed was illustrated with Heinz ketchup bottles.
Ketchup aficionados know that the number 57 is special to Heinz, which co-founder Henry J. Heinz intended to represent the “57 varieties” that his company offered. By 1896, Heinz offered more than 60 products, including horseradish, baked beans, cream of tomato soup and “salad cream.”

However, as the Heinz company explains on its website, there is no actual meaning behind the number.
“No one knows for sure. Henry claimed five was his lucky number, and seven was his wife's. But he also believed seven was a significant number for people of all ages.”
In 1911, Heinz launched its “Heinz 57” sauce. a spicier condiment intended to be enjoyed with steak, chicken or pork.
There is no indication of whether or not Jones will receive any of the “57” sauce as part of his lifetime gift from the Heinz company.
