Barcelona not guaranteeing the continuity of two forwards for next season â report
The upcoming summer transfer window is shaping up to be an extremely pivotal one for FC Barcelona, with some crucial signings expected to be made.
One of the priorities for the Blaugrana is the centre-forward position, where Robert Lewandowski, set to turn 38 in a few months, is out of contract in June, while Ferran Torres has not delivered consistently enough.
Julian Alvarez has been identified as the absolute priority to strengthen the No. 9 position in the summer, while Barcelona are also looking at some other bargain options in the market such as Vedat Muriqi.
In an intriguing bit of development, though, journalist Helena Condis of COPE reports that Barcelona are not guaranteeing the continuity of either Lewandowski or Ferran beyond the ongoing season.
As mentioned already, Lewandowskiâs contract expires at the end of the season. Talks have taken place with his agent, Pini Zahavi, but an agreement has not been reached.

It has been suggested that the veteran striker is not entirely happy with the offer being tabled, which would see him take a major pay cut in order to continue at the club.
So, there is a strong possibility that Lewandowski could move on from Barcelona at the end of the current campaign.
As for Ferran, the Spanish internationalâs performances have been up and down throughout the season, even though he was backed to take more prominence than his strike partner by Hansi Flick.
The former Manchester City man went through a long goalless streak lasting close to four months â something that could have hurt Barcelona under different circumstances.
As such, his continuity for next season is also not guaranteed at this point, meaning Barça could consider offers if something attractive comes along.
So, there could be a major dynamic shift as far as Barcelonaâs centre-forward department is concerned come next season.
