Barcelona seek to secure Montjuic Stadium for significant part of 2027/28 season

It has only been a few months since FC Barcelona returned to play at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou after more than two years away from their iconic ground.

However, with the roof installation at the renewed stadium yet to take place, the Blaugrana will once again have to relocate temporarily to Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic.

To that end, Cadena SER reports that Barcelona are already working to avoid being left without a stadium at the start of the 2027/28 season.

The club have already consulted the City Council over the possibility of using the Montjuic Stadium for a significant portion of the 2027/28 campaign.

The plan is for the Blaugrana to begin installing the roof at Camp Nou in June 2027, once next season concludes. This phase of construction is expected to last between four and five months, according to the club’s estimates.

However, this timeline is not definitive, as once the installation is completed, inspections by City Council technicians and the approval of all necessary safety permits will still be required. That process will take additional time.
