NĂŒbel started for Stuttgart at home against Leverkusen with a Champions League spot on the line. Leverkusen scored a goal in the first minute to make things nervy. NĂŒbel went the rest of the match without conceding again. He made two saves to help his team earn a 2-1 lead at halftime. Stuttgart went up 3-1 in the second half and NĂŒbel kept the guests from scoring again with two late saves to win by that score. Stuttgart moved into fourth place with the win. They are even on points with Hoffenheim, but have a five-goal advantage in goal differential. They travel to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
IbrahimoviÄ for Heidenheim in a pivotal match away to Köln. He assisted the opening goal in the eighth minute but the lead was erased just two minutes later. IbrahimoviÄ scored a goal of his own in the 28th minute that would go on to be the winning goal. On the day, he had two shots on goal and created three chances for his teammates to shoot. He was subbed off in the 76th minute with his team up 3-1. Neither team found a goal in the last quarter hour and Heidenheim secured a huge 3-1 away win. Peretz was in goal for Southampton for the first leg of their playoff semi-finals on Saturday away to Middlesborough. He saved all four shots on goal that he faced to earn a huge shutout. He was one of the only bright spots for Southampton. His teammates did not even record a shot on goal and the match ended in a scoreless draw, with all to play for in the return leg on Tuesday. Peretz was in goal again at home for the second leg. He faced only three shots on target â conceding a goal in the fifth minute. Middlesborough were unable to really test Peretz for the next 115 minutes. His team equalized in first half stoppage time but neither team found a goal in the second half. The match went into extra time and did not have a breakthrough until 116th minute when Southamptonâs Shea Charles put a ball into the box that missed everyone and made it all the way to the back of the net. Peretz just had a couple high balls to come out and claim but was not really tested. He received a yellow for time wasting but helped his team clinch the 2-1 win. Southampton will play in the playoff final against Hull City at Wembley on Saturday. Winner goes to the Premier League next season.
