The German champions are facing potential repercussions from UEFA after their dramatic quarter-final victory over Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena. European football’s governing body has confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened, although no specific details have yet been disclosed.

The investigation centres around crowd disturbances in the closing stages of Wednesday night’s match. As Bayern scored a dramatic 4-3 winner deep into stoppage time, several supporters climbed over barriers and made their way to the edge of the pitch. In the ensuing celebrations, fans pressed into the area behind the advertising boards, where photographers were positioned.

Bayern midfielder Jamal Musiala also jumped into the crowd during the celebrations, with reports suggesting that several journalists were caught up in the chaos.

According to police, at least four individuals - two women and two men - sustained injuries during the incident. Munich’s criminal police have since launched an investigation.

It remains unclear what sanctions UEFA may impose. One possible outcome could be a partial stadium closure, potentially affecting Bayern’s upcoming Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

The club are already under scrutiny following previous supporter-related incidents. In December 2025, Bayern were handed a suspended sanction involving the closure of the Südkurve after repeated use of pyrotechnics. That punishment, issued by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, could now be activated.

Vincent Kompany’s side are set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, with the first leg scheduled for April 28 in Paris, before the return leg at the Allianz Arena on May 6 - where the potential impact of any UEFA decision could be felt most.
