Bellingham âfeeling goodâ again after âfrustratingâ season
Jude Bellingham says he is feeling ready to contribute to a strong end to the season for Real Madrid and success for England at the World Cup after an injury-hit campaign.
The midfielder missed the start of the season after having shoulder surgery, and more recently missed a month with a hamstring injury.
âIâm feeling good,â Bellingham said ahead of Realâs Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
âObviously a bit of a frustrating season for me. My first like this really where Iâm missing so many games with injury.
âMy shoulder was a planned one at the start of the season and now with my hamstring in the last couple of months, itâs been really frustrating.
âBut Iâm feeling good now. I think the hardest bit of an injury when youâre coming back is trying to mentally prepare for games.
âA scan tell you the hamstring is fine but a lot of the block is in your head and thatâs helped by just having more minutes on the pitch. I think playing against Mallorca, Atleti, the minutes against Bayern in the first leg, have given me a lot of confidence now to push on and Iâm feeling good.â
Bellingham admits his sideâs clash with Bayern feels like âall or nothingâ given they have little hope of winning any other silverware this season.
âAny loss in the Champions League feels like a disaster,â he said.
âGiven the situation weâre in, we understand that tomorrow is a final and it feels like everything is riding on this game.
âItâs important that weâre present, that we show up, but we have to see it as an all or nothing game. That has to be our mentality and we canât hide from that.â
