A BKFC fighter has been convicted of murder, highlighting the ongoing issues of violence in combat sports. Meanwhile, UFC fighter Sean Strickland continues to boast about gun violence.

Sean Strickland likes to carry a gun and fantasize about murdering people.
The fact that heās a world-class UFC fighter with exceptional skills in hand-to-hand combat ā but still needs to carry a loaded weapon to feel like a man ā should tell you everything you need to know about how Strickland really feels about himself, though Iām sure by now heās made it abundantly clear.
Some people brag about shooting their enemies, other people actually do it.
That includes former BKFC fighter Lumumba Sayers, who opened fire during a childrenās birthday party in summer 2024. The 47-year-old Sayers, who also competed for the now-defunct Strikeforce promotion, was found guilty of murder in what prosecutors called a premeditated revenge killing.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 24.
The victim, 28-year-old Malcolm Watson, was targeted for his connection toĀ the shooting death of Sayers son, Lumumba Sayers Jr., a 2-0 featherweight with a pair of appearances for Colorado Combat Club in Pueblo. Sayers Sr. was also convicted of tampering with physical evidenceĀ after planting a gun on Watson.
As of this writing, Sayers Sr. is still listed on the BKFC website.
