Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell is set to make his first rehabilitation start of his recovery on Wednesday, April 22, for the Single-A Ontario Tower Buzzers.
The Dodgers have been bitten by the injury bug recently, with Edwin Diaz set to miss months of action and Ben Casparius also hitting the injured list.
However, Los Angeles is getting a good chunk of their payroll back soon with Snell’s return to the rotation, as he has steadily increased his preparation and is now set to make an official appearance on the mound again.
Snell has been slowly ramping up, throwing sessions and facing live hitters on a steady diet, and now he is set to complete in San Jose on Wednesday, as long as the weather holds up and allows a game to be played, according to Kate Woo of The Athletic.

The Tower Buzzers are playing against the San Jose Giants on Wednesday at 6 p.m., when Snell will be making his start.
Snell faced live hitters on Saturday, April 11th, for the first time since he reported a shoulder issue during the spring, which slowed his preparation and led him to stop throwing.
Since he started throwing more often, including bullpen sessions before facing hitters. During his session against Alex Call and Tommy Edman, he reported feeling well enough for him to do another session in the following days.
“It’s [a] very big [step], especially facing big league hitters,” Snell said. “I know Tommy getting in there for the first time, that’s big for him. So to get feedback from him is very important.
“And to see AC [Alex Call], who I faced every time I pitch against the Nationals, he’s a tough hitter. So to be able to face two good hitters and feel good — I’ve got a lot of work to do still — but yeah, definitely a big step.
“I feel great. I’ve done a lot of different things than I did last year when I was in this position. So I feel way better and I’m just very excited about how I feel right now where I’m at. Getting back to some normalcy again feels really good.”
Now, Snell moves to take on a bigger test in a full competitive outing as he aims to be clear for the end of his IL stint in late May, the target date throughout the season for the southpaw.
