To get back in the race to October, they need to make a bold move to jumpstart their roster. Sports Illustratedâs Patrick McAvoy has an idea to do so, proposing that the Mariners call up the New York Yankees to take a chance on their former No.1 prospect, Jasson Dominguez.

Crawford is going to be a free agent after the season and the Mariners already gave Colt Emerson an extension. If Crawford is moved, shortstop is open.
