Zuffa Boxing promoter Dana White spent some time talking to boxing media follow its latest card, and fielded questions about a number of subjects ranging from the plans for his company in the UK, plans to sign more and more fighters to their outfit, and more. âWe have an incredible Sky deal so weâre going to do a lot of fights in the UK. Realistically, over the last 15-20 years, boxing has become a European sport. It definitely doesnât have the same power it had in the United States in the 90s and early 2000s.â
âDid we announce that Shakur StevensonâŠ? No? [Smirks]. Possibly. Listen, at the end of the day I think everybodyâs going to be here at Zuffa BoxingâŠI said judge us by our body of work heading into â27 so, yeah. I donât know why I would say things that werenât true. I mean, look at what weâve done in just four months.â
âI think everybodyâs going to have opinions, especially the traditional guys who came up the way that they didâŠI think if you were to ask any of the fighters, they would tell you that we treat them very well, treat them like professional athletesâŠI donât know where thatâs coming from but I do like Roy.
âWhen you come into a business and cause disruption, youâre going to ruffle some feathers. Itâs going to happen.â
Dana White plans to host many fights in the UK, leveraging a strong partnership with Sky.
Dana White stated that boxing has become more of a European sport and lost its dominance in the U.S. since the 90s and early 2000s.
