After losing series after series since beating the Colorado Rockies on April 3-5, the Philadelphia Phillies have now won three straight series with Wednesday night's 6-3 win over the Athletics. The Phillies have also won four straight games since getting shut out by the Miami Marlins on May 2 (4-0).
A strong performance from Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh was one of the reasons for the Phillies' comeback victory. Marsh was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, and it was his second three-hit night in two days -- Marsh went 3-for-5 in the Phillies 9-1 win on Tuesday.
Of course, the Phillies' first baseman, Bryce Harper, is producing like his usual elite self -- Harper is hitting .277 with a .922 OPS and nine home runs in 37 games -- but Marsh has been the Phillies' second-best hitter. In 33 games, Marsh is hitting .336 (second in the National League) with a .875 OPS and four home runs.
Brandon Marsh contributed significantly by going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in the Phillies' 6-3 win over the Athletics.
The Philadelphia Phillies are currently on a four-game winning streak, having won three consecutive series.
The Phillies last lost a game on May 2 against the Miami Marlins, where they were shut out 4-0.

According to Marsh, after Wednesday night's win, the Phillies are showing they are "too good" to have been playing the way they were.
“I believe so,” Marsh said postgame. “This team is, coming from the humble side of my heart, too good to do what we were doing for that long. And we have a lot of dudes that a lot of people look up to on this team and across the whole league. So they carry us, and we follow them, and it was just a matter of time for us until we started clicking on both sides. And tonight was a good one. We've got to keep it going.”
Two of Marsh's three hits on Wednesday came against Athletics' left-hander Jeffery Springs, with a bunt single in the third inning and a triple to center in the fifth inning. Marsh is putting himself in a strong position to make his first All-Star team if he continues to produce.
