The Atlanta Braves have been without shortstop Ha-Seong Kim since he tore a tendon in his right middle finger. A Gold Glove defender at shortstop, the Braves received a positive update on when Kim will return.
According to Chad Bishop of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, manager Walt Weiss said Kim has been taking batting practice and will likely play in a simulated game on Thursday. Kim could begin a rehab appearance soon if all goes well in his simulated game.

Kim, 30, was claimed off waivers by the Braves from the Tampa Bay Rays last season and played in 24 games, hitting .253 with an OPS of .684. Kim spent most of last season on the injured list recovering from shoulder surgery and lower back inflammation.
Infielder Mauricio Dubon has been filling in at shortstop for Kim (17 games) and has done well. In 19 games, Dubon is hitting .319 with a .859 OPS.
Once Kim’s back he’ll likely be the Braves' primary shortstop, allowing Dubon to bounce around the field.
