The Milwaukee Brewers were dealt some unfortunate news on Tuesday morning, when it was reported that Christian Yelich was set to hit the injured list.
But there was still some uncertainty about how long he'd be out for the Brewers. And the latest from Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is some tough news.
Yelich is expected to be out for around a month, with Rosiak reporting that the Brewers are estimating his return to come in mid to late May.
Brewers estimate May return for Christian Yelich
"The Brewers are estimating Christian Yelich's return from his second-degree left adductor strain to be mid to late May," Rosiak reports.
This is some tough news for the Brewers, as they're now set to be without one of their best hitters for a while this season.
Amid a surprisingly tight NL Central, this lengthy absence is going to be tricky to manage for the Brewers' offense.

Yelich led the Brewers with a .314 batting average, and his .826 OPS this season was only bested by Gary Sanchez, William Contreras, Brice Turan, and Garrett Mithcell.
Milwaukee has some solid players to make up for Yelich's absence, but being without such a great player for so long is certainly going to be a massive negative for the offense through the rest of April and into May.
While Yelich might be able to come back in a month, there's also a chance that he's out for a bit longer as well. It's a tough blow, especially for a Brewers team in the middle of a five-game losing streak.
