Denver landed some of the top UDFAs available this spring, including California cornerback Brent Austin, and they had to beat out other clubs to sign him.

"The Denver Broncos won the race for his signature, beating out multiple teams in undrafted free agency," Justin Melo reported for Sports Illustrated earlier this week.

Melo ranked Austin among the best UDFA signings of the 2026 class.

"Austin is a press-man cornerback who first started drawing attention at the East-West Shrine Bowl," Melo wrote for SI. "He could make the Broncos' 53-man roster, as Vance Joseph will appreciate his football IQ and competitiveness."

Following the draft, NFL.com's Chad Reuter ranked Austin among the best UDFA cornerbacks available. Austin will now look to follow in the footsteps of other undrafted CBs who found success in Denver, including Chris Harris Jr. and Ja'Quan McMillian.
