Just as the team opened its rookie minicamp, the Denver Broncos have chosen not to offer an undrafted free-agent contract to Charlotte wide receiver Sean Brown.
It was reported shortly after the 2026 NFL Draft commenced that Brown would be signing with the Broncos, but he failed a physical leading into minicamp, which has forced the team to pull its offer. The failed physical stems from a fractured foot that is still in the healing process.
This does not mean that Brown can't sign with the Broncos, or any other team for that matter, in the future when the foot is healed, it just means his road to the NFL has gotten a bit more difficult.
This news brings the number of undrafted free agents on this year's roster down to 13.
Brown faced long odds to make Denver's 53-man roster due to a deep group at the wide receiver position. He caught just 75 passes for 1,018 yards and two touchdowns during his college career, but he has intriguing size at 6-foot-4 and could have made for an interesting addition to the practice squad.

The Broncos were likely keen on the idea of Brown being a part of training camp this summer, so it's likely the team will keep tabs on his progress through rehabbing that foot and could consider adding him to the roster at some point this offseason or even after the season starts.
Without Brown, the Broncos currently have 11 wide receivers on the roster, four of whom (Joseph Manjack, Dane Key, Kolbe Katsis and Cam Ross) are undrafted rookies.
