At this point in his illustrious career, LeBron James has nothing to prove, as he has done it all. Some of his notable achievements include winning four NBA championships, four Finals MVPs, four league MVPs, 22 All-Star selections and three All-Star Game MVPs. But despite losing a step or two, James remains capable of producing at a high level while breaking several old-man league records in the process.
In the 2025-26 season, the 41-year-old averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals on 51.5% shooting from the field in 60 regular season games. During the playoffs, James carried the Lakers (who were without Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic) to the second round, averaging 23.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.3 steals on 45.9% shooting from the field.
However, if he plans to return for at least one more season, James will have to take a huge pay cut if he is serious about contending for one more title. Giving him another $50 million contract or anything close to it would be a huge burden on any contender.
