It might only be early in the Todd Monken era for the Cleveland Browns, but quarterback Shedeur Sanders is already a big fan.
With Monken taking over from Kevin Stefanski, it has been clear from the outset that the new head coach wants to get things off and running on the right foot.
And that means getting his quarterbacks to understand what is in front of them, and more importantly, how to get Sanders to be the best-possible version of himself.
As Cleveland's voluntary workouts began, Sanders detailed how Monken has already helped him become a better player.
"I was here one day and he was like, 'Well, if you want to be the best quarterback you want to be, then you got to do that on a daily thing, on a daily regimen, daily time,'" Sanders said via NFL.com. "So that's what clicked for me. And then I was like, 'OK, I need to improve this area.'
"And it's just one step at a time. You got to do this, you got to do this. You keep adding things as you start getting momentum and everything. So, I think it's just having (a head coach) just talking to you, like, I think that's it. Just a relationship. I'm a relationship-based person, so I take relationships extremely serious."

Todd Monken aims to get quarterbacks to understand their roles better and focuses on maximizing their potential, differing from Kevin Stefanski's approach.

So, there will be no sweeping statements about the quarterback battle just yet, as everyone is still trying to figure out Monken's system.
Some think Sanders should get the first shot at being the starter, but it is clear that Monken wants everyone to have an equal opportunity to prove themselves.
It looms as a fascinating battle to watch over the coming months, and Sanders has already gotten the benefits of Monken's style, so maybe that will hold him in good stead as he looks to be the starter come Week 1.
