The Cleveland Browns have made it a point in this 2026 offseason that they need to address the wide receiver position. It was the focal point of the Browns' draft last week, but general manager Andrew Berry assured that no matter what they did, it would not impact the role that Jerry Jeudy would have on this roster.
Jeudy is coming off a very challenging year in Cleveland. It has been a tale of two players in Jeudy's time in Cleveland. In 2024, he thrived in an offense that was primarily run by Jameis Winston.
Then, last year, every week felt disjointed between him and whoever was playing quarterback. 2024 was a career year for Jeudy as he finished with 90 catches for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns. Even without his 235-yard game against the Denver Broncos, he still had a really solid season for Cleveland and was a true number one option.
Last year, it wasn't the case. He finished with just 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns on the year. Furthermore, he finished second in the league with 10 drops, trailing just Jameison Williams from Detroit.
When people discussed the Cleveland offensive ineptitude, the wide receiver position is always the start of the conversation, and Jeudy is at the top of the list. When Cleveland addressed the wide receiver position in the 2026 NFL Draft, the question was asked how the new players would impact Jeudy's status and role on the roster.
The answer that Andrew Berry gave to the question was blunt and straightforward. He said that the draft will have "zero impact" on Jeudy, and he doubled down, saying that Jeudy is Cleveland's "bell cow."
Now, the proposition of Jeudy having to lead a wide receiver room that he is the number one with very little help behind him is not great. But the proposition of Jeudy being the number one receiver with two other stud youngsters behind him is something that I think everyone in Cleveland can get behind.
In the 2024 season, Jerry Jeudy had a career year, recording 90 catches for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns.
Last season, Jerry Jeudy finished with 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns, along with ranking second in the league with 10 drops.
The Cleveland Browns made significant moves to address their wide receiver position during the 2026 offseason, focusing on enhancing their roster through the draft.

A wide receiver room of Jeudy, KC Concepcion, and Denzel Boston, along with all of the other weapons that Cleveland's offense will have, holds a lot of potential. The rookies have to hit the ground running and live up to their potential, and if they do that, they can unlock the best of Jerry Jeudy in his third year in Cleveland.
