Not many cities can parade their first-round draft picks to each of the other sports teams in the city and have them become the center of attention. Insert Cleveland, Ohio.
The newest Cleveland Browns have gotten the opportunity to get out in front of their new fanbase the past two nights. First, on Monday night, wide receiver KC Concepcion had an evening that most 10-year-old Cleveland boys can only dream of.
One week after being drafted to the Cleveland Browns, he got to throw out the first pitch at the Guardians game and then walked across the street to Rocket Arena and pulled the sword for the Cavs in Game 4 against their rival, the Detroit Pistons.
Next up was Cleveland's top selection in the draft, Spencer Fano. Fano has come to Cleveland and taken everything in stride, with a smile on his face. He is going to be such a positive force from a cultural perspective for a team that absolutely needs to re-establish its identity.
Fano will lead the charge in that for hopefully many years to come.
On Tuesday night, Fano got his chance to throw out the first pitch at the Guardians game, and he delivered a decent pitch across the plate. He didn't look the most graceful and really looked like a superhuman offensive lineman trying to throw a football. In fairness, that is exactly what he is.
He also spent some time with Slider, the Guardians' mascot, learning how to do his signature move.
Fano looks towards his rookie year with both an incredible opportunity and an incredible challenge in front of him. He spent his last couple of seasons in Utah playing the right tackle position. In Cleveland, he will be looking to fill the mammoth shoes that are Joe Thomas's at left tackle.
Switching from one side to another is a major challenge, but there will be no questions about where he is playing. Minutes after being selected, Browns' head coach Todd Monken told the media that Fano is the starting left tackle.

If Fano can become a great player in this league, he will provide a major answer that the Browns have had for nearly a decade now. He can be part of the solution, and if he is, he will become a fan favorite for many years to come. Along with that come as many first pitches as he could ever want to do.
