Former Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart has hit out at Bryson DeChambeau after the LIV Golf star endured a hugely disappointing week at The Masters.
DeChambeau was one of the heavy favourites to win at Augusta National. The Crushers captain went into the first major of the year having won the previous two events on LIV Golf.
He also seemed to be edging closer to working Augusta out. DeChambeau led at various stages in each of the previous two Masters Tournaments, including two holes into the last round in 2025.
However, he did not get the opportunity to even play on Sunday this time around. DeChambeau missed the cut after making a triple bogey on the 18th at the end of his second round.
Bryson DeChambeau criticised after missing the cut at The Masters
DeChambeau was in high spirits going into the event, with the two-time US Open champion having comedian Kevin Hart caddie for him in the Par Three Contest on Wednesday.
He was also seen giving Hart something of a golf lesson on the range. That has led to DeChambeau coming in for criticism.

The 32-year-old has made no secret of his love for being on YouTube and trying to capture a more mainstream audience. But speaking on the Sky Sports Golf Podcast, Coltart insisted that it was not a good look for DeChambeau to be focusing on Hartās game ahead of The Masters.
āWhatās more important? Your followers or winning major championships? Letās be honest, you think Seve Ballesteros would be giving a lesson? Have you seen anybody do that? Come on, thatās just a joke that is,ā he said.
Why LIV Golf players struggled so badly at The Masters
Bryson DeChambeau did not miss the cut because he gave Hart a golf lesson on the practice ground before The Masters. There is always a much more relaxed feel across the field on the Wednesday.
However, it certainly does not look good with the benefit of hindsight.
In fact, it was a very disappointing week for LIV Golf as a league.
Remarkably, Tyrrell Hatton was the only LIV player to finish inside the top 30. That has not happened in a major since the 2022 season.
It may be a coincidence. But Coltart believes that the venues LIV travel to are not preparing the players properly for the demands of the majors.
āItās not tournament condition golf courses. Itās a resort course. The golf courses are not up to the difficult testing standards,ā he said.
āI think each and every one of those guys, even DeChambeau of course, whoās coming off the back of two wins, heāll be massively disappointed with his performance. When he looks back on it, itās like, āIām not getting the right kind of prep because I have to play in these tournamentsā.ā
It was alarming to see DeChambeau struggle so much at The Masters after looking much more comfortable at Augusta National in the previous two years.
We will never know how responsible playing on LIV is for that result. But it is impossible to ignore just how poorly their biggest stars performed this past week.
