So when Clark showed up to practice Monday, May 4, wearing a compression sleeve on her left leg, eyebrows raised.
Beat reporters got right to business during Clark’s press availability Tuesday morning, four days before the Fever’s regular season opener.
“I knew that would be the first question,” Clark said of her leg sleeve, per Indy Star reporter Chloe Peterson. “Just a little compression on the leg. I mean, I don’t know.”
After playing all 40 regular-season games as rookie, Clark appeared in just 13 of 44 contests in 2025. Groin and ankle injuries limited her throughout the season. Clark averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5 rebounds per game. Her 3-point percentage dropped from 34.4 percent in 2024 to 27.9 percent.
Despite injuries to several of their top players, the Fever advanced to the WNBA semifinals before falling to the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces.

Although Clark enjoys several promotional income streams thanks to her popularity, her WNBA salary took a huge leap under the league’s new collective bargaining agreement. She will earn $528,846 this season, up from about $78,000 in 2025, per Spotrac.
Clark scored 12 points but sat out the second half of Saturday’s preseason finale against Nigeria. She and the Fever open the regular season against the Dallas Wings at 1 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC, Disney+ and the ESPN app.
