Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has joined his local non-league club Marine FC to help out in an advisory capacity.
Bootle-born Carragher lives near the club's Rossett Park in Crosby in north Liverpool and the TV pundit has followed their rise to the sixth-tier National League North.
Marine, who finished the 2025-26 season in 12th, 11 points outside the play-offs, are keen to use his extensive contacts within the game to continue growing the club.
"Marine is a proper community football club with good people involved and a clear vision for where it wants to go," Carragher told the club website.
"I've enjoyed watching the progress the club has made over recent years and I'm pleased to be able to support the club in an advisory capacity going forward."
Marine have enjoyed two promotions in the last five years and raised over £300,000 in virtual ticket sales when they played Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup third round during the second Covid lockdown in January 2021.
The club want to move from their 3,000-capacity Rossett Park to a new ground and hope to submit a planning application to the local council in September.
"This is a brilliant moment for Marine Football Club," said CEO James Leary.
"Jamie is someone who genuinely cares about football and the local community and he's followed closely what we've been building here over the last few years.
"His experience and relationships will be a huge help to the club as we continue moving Marine forward over the coming years."
