On Sunday, ESPN's Jeremy Woo released a mock draft in which the Celtics selected Alabama forward Amari Allen with the 27th pick. Additionally, he projected that they would choose Purdue guard Braden Smith with the 40th pick.
Smith played four seasons at Purdue, participating in 149 games and averaging 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists.
The 22-year-old guard is more of a facilitator than a scorer and recently shattered the career assists record for a Division 1 men's basketball player.
Smith will likely need a season or two to develop in the G League, but he could be a great fit for the Celtics as they work to improve his scoring.
Braden Smith is a guard from Purdue Boilermakers, noted for his exceptional skills that could set new records in the NBA.
