Chelsea are close to agreeing a new long-term contract with midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The West Londoners have been working on a new deal for Caicedo to secure the long-term future of the influential midfielder. An agreement is close to being finalised, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the deal set to run until 2033.
Caicedo has given the āgreen lightā to a contract extension with Chelsea with the player confident in the project at Stamford Bridge. The Ecuador international joined Chelsea from Brighton for a then-British record fee of Ā£115m in 2023.
He has cemented a reputation as one of the Premier Leagueās best defensive midfielders at Chelsea, and leads the division for interceptions in 2025/26. Caicedo also ranks fourth for tackles won.
Earlier this month, Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior outlined his belief that Caicedo was the worldās best in his position.
