Chelsea winger Estevao in danger of missing the World Cup due to hamstring injury

Estevao is facing a race against time to be fit for that contest, although rushing him back to action may not bode well for his long-term fitness.

Estevao’s setback is a massive blow for both Brazil and Chelsea. The teenager has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for the Blues after joining from Palmeiras last summer.

He has racked up eight goals and four assists in 36 games across all competitions, establishing himself as a livewire on the right flank and a handful for opposition defenders.

One of the major highlights of his campaign came against Liverpool in October 2025, when his last-minute goal helped Chelsea to seal a 2-1 Premier League victory at the Bridge.

He also helped the Blues decimate Barcelona in the Champions League, scoring a fantastic second-half goal as Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners in the League Phase.

Estevao’s breakout campaign has also put him on the map with the Brazilian national team, especially under Carlo Ancelotti’s leadership.

He has already secured 11 senior caps for the Selecao and will hope to recover in time to be named in Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.
