This week, the NFL schedule is set to be released, and as with every year, there are leaks prior to the actual schedule being announced, and the Kansas City Chiefs now know who they will face and where.
And as it turns out, it could hint at a Patrick Mahomes return date.
The Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, the final game of Week 1, so that gives Patrick until the very last minute to prove his fitness, as he has stated his desired return date is Week 1.
Or, for the conspiracy theorists out there, maybe the NFL is confident that Mahomes will be ready for Week 1, so why would they have Justin Fields on prime time?

In the days and weeks following his ACL injury, we heard that Patrick's desire was to be the Week 1 starter for the Chiefs.
That is a bold take, and some think it is a little outlandish, but Mahomes has a clear vision, which means he'll need a good block of practices at training camp to then be able to play against the Broncos.
And if we are being serious for a second, the Denver defense isn't a unit you want to go against if you are anything less than 100 percent healthy, and even then, it's scary.
So, how hard Mahomes will push to make that Week 1 game is unknown, but the NFL clearly has faith in his recovery abilities, otherwise why would they schedule the Chiefs to be on prime time?
