Four-star wide receiver Deshawn Hall has narrowed his recruitment down to seven schools, and Clemson made the cut alongside Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. For a Tigers football program that has already been active with Hall, staying in this race is a pretty strong sign that Tyler Grisham and Clemsonâs staff have made a real impression.
Hall is a 6-foot-5 receiver out of Prattville, Alabama, with a frame that immediately jumps off the page. 247Sports list him as the No. 200 overall player in the 2027 class, the No. 24 wide receiver and the No. 10 player in Alabama, On 247Sportsâ own rankings, he sits even higher as the No. 174 overall player and No. 23 wide receiver in the country.
That size is the easy thing to sell, but Hall is more than just a big target on the outside. His scouting report notes that he caught 40 passes for 660 yards and five touchdowns as a junior after transferring to Prattville. That comes out to 16.5 yards per catch, which tells you he is not just catching short throws and falling forward.
Clemson has already locked in a visit date, with Hall listed for a May 29 visit. In a recruitment this loaded, that matters. Alabama, Tennessee, and Auburn all have obvious regional pull, while Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State bring national wide receiver production pedigree, as well as Big Ten power into the picture.
For Clemson, the pitch is pretty clear. The Tigers can sell an early opportunity, a proven history of putting big receivers in the NFL, and a 2027 class where they still have room to build around offensive playmakers. Hall would give Clemson a major outside receiver target with the kind of size that can change a passing game, especially if he continues developing into his frame.
There is still a long way to go in this recruitment, but Clemson making the final seven is a good start. Now the Tigers have to turn the campus visit into something that keeps them near the front of a crowded race.
