For the second consecutive year, the Cleveland Browns will move forward without standout linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah after placing him on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the 2026 NFL season. The decision officially sidelines one of the team’s most dynamic defensive players as concerns surrounding his recovery continue.

Owusu-Koramoah has not appeared in a game since October 2024, when he suffered a serious neck injury during a matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The injury occurred while attempting to tackle powerful Ravens running back Derrick Henry, a collision that briefly sent the linebacker to the hospital for evaluation. Although initial updates provided optimism, Owusu-Koramoah has yet to return to football activities, raising ongoing questions about his long-term health and playing future.

Browns must fill void

The Browns had already placed him on the reserve/PUP list in May 2025, signaling that his rehabilitation process was expected to be lengthy. With the same designation now applied for the 2026 season, the organization appears focused on prioritizing the 26-year-old’s health over any possibility of a rushed comeback.
