Former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders recently walked the stage for graduation on the University of Colorado Boulderâs campus on Saturday, and it appears more schooling is on his mind.
The âGrown QBâ shared an interest in potentially pursuing a masterâs degree, saying during his graduation, "I gotta stack up my real life chips. . . . I might think about getting my master's. I donât know yet. Something I really feel like that would be very effective. I donât think you have to get your master's or have to have your degree to be successful, but Iâm doing it more for the activity of learning."
Sanders finished his sociology degree at CU with a 3.9 GPA, though many have chastised the now-24-year-old for not going to class during his time in Colorado. Shedeur reportedly attended his first in-person class in the spring 2024 semester.

Many athletes finish degree programs while still playing in the NFL. Still, itâs hard not to read into Sandersâ comments a bit, especially the âstack up my real life chipsâ portion of his comments. Perhaps Sanders is hedging for a future non-NFL career.
That makes sense. His older brother, Shilo, is already finding his footing in a post-football world. Unfortunately, that has bled into Shedeurâs career negatively, with recent derogatory comments towards the Plain Dealerâs Mary Kay Cabot drawing media heat that even reached their father, Deion. Itâs unclear how many NFL franchises will want to contend with a backup QB whose family is burning bridges with the local media.
For now, Shedeur has a job with the Cleveland Browns in the QB room behind Deshaun Watson. If the Browns ever cut ties, Shedeur, far more so than Shilo, has a job waiting for him in Boulder. It appears he still has an interest in being in proximity to Boulder.
