ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported on Thursday, April 16, that Aubrey has not yet received an offer sheet from another team. The deadline for the restricted free agent to receive an offer is Friday.
âWith time running out and no offer forthcoming, Aubrey now looks destined to remain with Dallas in 2026,â Schefter posted on X.
Aubrey connected on 88.2 percent of his field-goal attempts and 96.6 percent of his extra points. In 2025, he hit 36 of 42 field-goal tries, all of the misses coming from 50 or more yards out. Plus, he set a single-season NFL record by making three kicks of 60 yards or more.
On March 7, the Cowboys placed the second-round restricted free-agent tender on Aubrey. Under the tender, any team can make an offer to the fourth-year kicker. If the Cowboys choose not to match the offer, they receive the offering teamâs second-round pick in the upcoming draft.
Still, Aubrey and the Cowboys can continue negotiations on a long-term contract. If Aubrey plays under the tender, he will earn $5.81 million in 2026, per Pro Football Talk.
Just after Dallas placed the tender on him, Aubrey said talks are in a âwaiting pattern.â
âItâs not something that I have control over as the term restricted applies there,â Aubrey said, . âObviously, Dallas is my home. Iâd like to keep it that way, so it would be nice to get a long-term deal going. Just need to sit down and have that conversation.â
