Will they or won't they? That's just about the only question anyone in Cowboys Nation is asking with a week to go before the 2026 draft. Not everyone agrees with the recent whispers that the Cowboys are hot on trading up in the first round, but there's a case to be made that staying put at No. 12 would be an even more dramatic move... and not in a good way. Anyway, a look at who the Cowboys have actually spent their pre-draft visits with sure seems to suggest that the Joneses are looking to move up AND move down on the opening night of picks.
Looking at the draft through a larger lens, the Cowboys potentially trading up to No. 4 (!) would certainly shake things up for several teams. But no matter what they do, it would behoove Dallas to stay focused on their sizable needs. Forget flashy wide receivers and the big nasties on the O-line; the name of the game in this draft is still defense, defense, defense. And they have the draft capital to make some waves; the Cowboys are in the top 10 of a set of power rankings- albeit regarding selections- for the first time in a long time.
In Arlington, there's debate of a very different kind brewing. With the city council set to consider a resolution to extend the Cowboys' lease at AT&T Stadium through the year 2055- and also promise to invest $273 million over the next two decades to help keep them there- there's suddenly a movement to possibly put the issue up for a public vote, the outcome of which may not be a mere formality.
Two more teams have rolled out new uniforms for 2026. While the changes to the Rams' look may be subtle overall, the Ravens have revamped a good bit of their imagery with some very cool details. The Dolphins, meanwhile, may have avoided a nasty standoff with De'Von Achane; the running back was at the team facility Thursday in a positive sign as the club declares him "not available" for a trade. And a bizarre story involving Alabama football, a former defensive end, and three current school alums playing in the NFL: , , and all had their identities stolen by a former Crimson Tide player who wore disguises and used phony driver's licenses to secure nearly $20 million dollars in fraudulent loans.
The Cowboys are rumored to be considering trading up in the draft, potentially to the No. 4 spot, while also having the option to stay at No. 12.
