The Cincinnati Bengals could be affected by trade rumors involving the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets during the NFL draft. Experts caution that such rumors should not be dismissed, as they can significantly influence draft strategies.
As it turns out, the Cowboys aren't the only team that could impact the Bengals when it comes to trades.
This thought stems off an interesting one from ESPNās Matt Miller, who took to social media to caution against not taking trade rumblings seriously this time of year.
āIt was this time last year when rumors started that the Browns might trade down from No. 2 overall,ā Miller wrote. āAt first they were brushed off...then they solidified. I wouldn't ignore any rumors about teams like the Jets or Cowboys moving into the top 10.ā
This goes both ways, too. The Bengals sit in a prime trade-down spot. If a team like the Cowboys gets desperate, Duke Tobin and Co. might be happy to move back two spots to No. 12 while gaining more draft capital in the process.
Itās a little more unrealistic to think the Bengals would trade back with the New York Jets, moving all the way back to No. 16. But the price on a trade like that would be steep, potentially gifting the Bengals another top-50 pick.
Dangerous here, though, is the idea the Cowboys or Jets could also look to jump the Bengals. Itās really obvious what the Bengals need at No. 10. Dallas, especially, has major defensive needs too and will have sights on names like Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs.
Either way, as Miller notes, this time last year, some of these trade rumblings weren't just noise for fun.

Trades involving the Cowboys and Jets could alter the draft landscape, potentially affecting the players available to the Bengals when it's their turn to pick.
What did Matt Miller say about NFL trade rumors and their significance?
Matt Miller emphasized that trade rumors, particularly around this time of year, should be taken seriously, as they can lead to unexpected changes in draft positions.
What was the previous example of trade rumors affecting NFL draft outcomes?
Last year, rumors about the Browns potentially trading down from the No. 2 overall pick were initially dismissed but later proved to be significant, illustrating the unpredictable nature of draft trades.
