One of Tennessee’s biggest targets in the class of 2027 has announced his commitment date — and you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to find out his decision. The 5-star running back will make his decision on July 22nd, set to pick between Tennessee, Ohio State, Georgia and Ole Miss. Most believe this battle is down to Tennessee and Ohio State, however.
Tom Loy at 247Sports had the news on Wednesday.
According to 247Sports, Gabriel Georges is the 12th ranked player in the cycle. He’s the top-ranked player in the state of Tennessee and the second-ranked running back in the country. Gabriel Georges is originally from Canada, but has played his high school ball at Baylor School in Chattanooga.
The 6-0, 205 pound back was named an All-American by MaxPreps for his work on the field last season. Gabriel-Georges exploded to open the season against rival McCallie, running for 280 yards with multiple 50-yard scores.
The Quebec native has official visits lined up with all of his finalists, starting with the Volunteers at the end of the month. Ohio State has pulled out all the stops to land Gabriel Georges, including visiting him in Chattanooga last week with their entire offensive staff.
You can expect this one to go all the way to the finish line, with the Vols and Buckeyes trying to land one of the most electric playmakers in the class.
