Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak is frustrated that he and the team fell short of winning a Stanley Cup once again.
Pastrnak is one of the best players in the NHL, but he’s yet to win the Stanley Cup in his career, which is something that is alluding him. So, after Boston was eliminated in Game 6 by the Buffalo Sabres, the star forward vented some frustration on the playoff exit.
“Of course it’s disappointing,” Pastrnak said postgame on Friday. “I’m turning 30 in a couple of weeks, so, had one sniff at the Cup so far, and yeah, it’s getting harder every single year. That’s what I tell the young guys now that I – what Bergy (Patrice Bergeron) and those guys told you when I was young. You know, when you’re younger, you look at it way differently than when you are 30.”
Pastrnak knows winning the Stanley Cup isn’t easy, but he hopes he will be able to win one before his career is over.
“The season is a blink of an eye,” Pastrnak added. “I remember being young, and each season felt like forever. January comes, you feel like it should be over, and when you’re older, and you have family, and you have outside life, you know, it’s a blink of an eye. So you don’t want to waste any opportunity.”
Pastrnak has been in the NHL since 2014 after he was selected 25th overall by the Bruins in the 2014 NHL Draft. In the playoffs, the star forward had 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 4 games.
