According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Lions have been “making trade calls” ahead of Round 1 tonight, and he added that “some teams are watching Detroit as a trade-up threat.” However, it was unclear what the team that failed to make the playoffs in 2025 would be looking for that they couldn’t get when they are on the clock at pick 17.

This year, there is no clear cut No. 1 offensive lineman in this year’s class. So, certain offensive line prospects that are going high in one NFL mock draft are going later in others. Either way, the Lions are probably looking to move into the end of the top 10 or the early teens.
At that range they will likely be targeting Georgia’s Monroe Freeling, Utah’s Spencer Fano, Olaivavega Ioane or Francis Mauigoa.
